The montana and armandii clematis are fragrant, but they get huge. Another clematis listed as fragrant is Chantily, which is listed to grow 5-7 ft. I planted mine last year, but I have not seen it bloom yet. Here's the link to Brushwood.

Another option is Fleuri, which grows 3-5 ft, and has a gorgeous, rich dark red- purple bloom, but it's not fragrant. I also got this one from Brushwood.
