I'm looking at the number on the left side, and it's 4 higher than it should be (for the daylilies only).

I think you are right, though, that somewhere something has gotten messed up/out of sync with our adding/deleting plants.

Off to go delete a missing/dead iris now (which I am not going to replace) - let's see if the iris count gets messed up now.

Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
