I don't have a problem with these red lupines being invasive. I think the common purple/pink are invasive for some. It does reseed itself. If you get rid of the seeds before they mature, I think would help. Mine don't have runners. The roots aren't overly deep. I've let a few seeds go and if they weren't red, I pulled them out right away.
