I also have this plant and so far, in our area, it has responded well being grown in shade. Initially it gets some afternoon sun, but I have now moved it to an area where it can get some morning sun and some late afternoon sun, since it is grown in a container with other succulents that would like some more sun.

During the warmer months, I give it deep watering every two weeks, and I grow this one outdoors like most of my succulents but in shade, to give these plants some bearing to handle our dry heat come summer time. Last winter, its first time, I just have the container outdoors too but near our house, and just had Mother Nature water it. We have been in drought conditions for the past few months, with the brief rains that came by in early Spring. So far it did not bother these plants. My thinking is some succulents like this one, slow down in growth when it gets cold, but as long as kept dry, they survive. But as soon as our drier and warmer weather returns, then the once to every two weeks deep watering works for them.

So far too, I have never given fertlizers to my succulents, and they survive well. What I often overlook is their temperature requirement. But for this particular plant, at least in my area, it survives outdoors in shade. warm or cold weather. Do not water it too much, I have observed sometimes in succulents, too much water and growing in shade makes them grow either leggy or worst gets mushy and dies.
