We have a small yard and I like to move the umbrella stand in order to provide us some relief from the heat. We took an old pot, added some PVC pipe (big enough for our umbrella) added some lava rock and then poured concrete in the pot and left about 10 inches open from the rim of the pot. I added some wood dowels in the concrete while it was hardening to create drainage holes for plants. We then placed that heavy monster of a pot on wheels. We can now move it around and it looks nice. I can't claim credit for this idea. We saw it on a gardening show years ago.
