There are any hardy fuchsias, but they are only considered hardy if they are planted in the ground. None are really hardy if they are put in pots and baskets. The thing to remember is not to let the roots freeze. You can lose the upper stems with no problems, and as long as the roots are OK, you will get new growth from the bottom of the plant in spring. I'm in England, so I can get mine if wanted from fuchsia nurseries here. I don't know about the USA, perhaps someone there can advise you. As I also bred fuchsias, I have also bred my own hardy varieties, a couple being "Barbara's Gem", "Clara Agnes" and "Jack the Lad". Keep your eye on the ideas page, as I have sent an article on hardy fuchsias in the garden. It might be put on there.
