My guess is that the lobbyists for the big food companies get these laws and regulations passed. Money talks. Now-a-days it seems that these business don't listen or care unless people boycott their products (which hurt their business profits). So unless people take a stand, these companies will continue to put the public at risk for health issues from newborns to elderly (and everyone else in between). I say ... Grow what you can yourself!

Much to my surprise, I recently found out that my sub-division (which is residential homes) ... allows each homeowner to have 2 chickens! Really????!!!! I was totally shocked to hear that. But someone I know keeps 2 chickens (for the eggs every day) in their backyard in a chicken coop. It sure caught my attention when she said that!

Property here is 80' x 120' lots.... not acreage.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
