Thanks Lin. Every day now, we think she is about at the end, and then she will surprise us and go climbing up and down the hills! We've been trying to prepare ourselves, but it's impossible to do that, really. We know she won't be around too much longer, because we won't let her suffer. Once the pain medicine no longer works, we'll say goodbye. It's getting close to that point now. Bud died at age 9 of cancer, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Maggie has cancer too, but we wouldn't treat it, so we aren't having her tested for it. It's her hips that are bad though, and have been since she was very young. But, I took her knowing that she had issues. She's a special girl, and has lived a very good life. We also have two Labs, so there is never a dull moment around here! Bo sure doesn't look like a Jep to me!

My husband is a licensed aircraft mechanic, but has never worked in the field. When he found out that beginning mechanics make about $10 an hour, we decided that we don't want to fly again! He's retired from the Navy, and the VA sent him to school. He ended up with a degree in geography, which he has enjoyed. Beats working on a plane!

I went for a drive today, to get some pictures of the foliage on this plant. I was shocked that I couldn't find those beautiful pink blooms anywhere! Apparently word got out last night that they are tasty, and something ate them! Probably some deer. I know lots of places that I've seen them, but without those pink blooms, I'd never be able to figure out which plant they were on. So, I'll close this thread, and try again next year!
