I am in Fl. too & so I know what you speak of. The copper works pretty well but noting is perfect when the temps. get this high. The copper will keep it for a week to 2 weeks & then you'll have to clean it. Beats cleaning it every 2 or 3 days.
Also, instead of copper, you can use apple cider vinegar, just 1/2 cap per bath but you have to add it every time you fill the birdbath up or top it off.
