very interesting thread Julia Thumbs up

it's an old problem that there are a lot of lists but nothing official;
that's the cause why we've built our homepage www.sempervivum-liste.de on the background of a database I had built out of all that available lists around in the net;

I've taken every single item and compared them.....and the result has gone online;

then we tried to get photos for each entry; our users tried to buy all the available cultivars - we traveled to the big collections to make photos - we call breeders to get original photos from them......

but new breeders appear (for example Sue Thomas or Dagmar Petrlikova) and we have to expand our list permanently; we always try to get informations about the breeder, the year of release and the parents; but sometimes a nice plant with a new name appears and we find nothing about it;

it has to be something unique to get into our list without information - or we record it if a big seller like Erwin Geiger or Volkmar Schara add it to their offer....

it's a hard and permanent work and we look around all over the world; I think our list is one of the most actual and complete - but we won't record every common Semps only because it has a name;
