I don't know what kind of bee this is, but he looked very happy. I hate to clean up dead leaves from my plants because I know something is going to show up on those leaves. On several occasions, I have found bees checking out the dead leaves. I left these leaves on my pineapple sage remain for longer than I normally would. I had just started running my fingers along the stem to remove the dead leaves when I remembered that I hadn't taken a picture of this sage I nearly killed.

Since I can't see too well unless I am right on top of a plant, or have my camera, I almost missed this bee. But I bet he wouldn't have missed me, and would have let his hind end do the talking.

He's kind of cute, don't you think? His little stinger was really wiggling so much, I thought he was either trying to warn me to get my camera out of his face, or he was trying to decide whether to sting me because he was enjoying himself before I came along and jostled his comfortable perch when removing some of the dead leaves.
