San Antonio has had quite a bit of rain lately. The temperature has stayed below the 90s during the days and cooler at night. I use alfalfa pellets on all my beds. I've never had any burn at all! I spread the pellets and water them to soften them up. She could also put the pellets in a bucket with water and make a slurry to water the alfalfa in around the plants.
