My friend from Argentina used to make a type of cookie - a secret recipe using the heads of Elderberry flowers/Elderflowers.
These were served at wedding showers, the many flowers were a symbol of fertility wishing the bride to have many children.
The closest recipe I can find is for Elderflower fritters.
