Hi David,

I do indeed avoid planting new plants in the heat of the summer, but vegetables can be an exception. For example, I will put out new tomato plants in late August, and will sow pumpkin seeds in early August. What I won't do during the heat of the summer is transplant any perennial plants. So, if your fall planting guide prescribes planting something in summer, by all means, do it! Smiling
