And if you know the type of plant, like salvia, and you have a photo but you don't know the cultivar name (and can't get an exact ID in the Plant ID forum), you can always add your image to the generic parent plant.
Salvias (Salvia) You can then add that entry to your plant list. If you ever do discover the ID, you just propose to have your image moved to the correct entry.
