I bring it inside on a closed in porch for the winter. I handles some cool weather in the fall, but not frost. I'm in zone 7b or 8a - it's different depending on the map. Some of the damage on this was caused by taking it out too soon in the spring. It can handle cool temps in the fall, but those same temps will damage the leaves in the spring. I keep forgetting that and I'm always impatient to get things out of winter storage. The original plant of this came from my grandmother, so it's sort of an heirloom plant. My parents got a start when I was in high school and that was a looooong time ago :). It's been in the family for 50 years or more.
