Thanks Janet! But I don't think it is in the family (Boraginaceae) of a Heliotropium, it doesn't feel right, the flowers on the plants I met never seem to open like in on those links, they actually look and behave like from an Anthurium, though of course that cannot be!

I'm sure it looks like a Piper species, Stone, thank you!!
I'll have to check the 'Flora do Brasil' which species grow there! Smiling
