Great photos at that site. There seems to be stipules at the leaf junctions shown on one photo (for Clematis virginiana, that is) - not seeing that on the plant in question. Clematis certainly seems likely.
By the way, the photos of the plant in question show a plant marker that I can't read... nothing to do with this plant, I take it?
