I've never thought of honeysuckle as an annoyance plant, but perhaps it is just well behaved in my zone. I also note none of my vines are L. japonica which appears to be the culprit of misbehavior. I do have a native that I've read can get out of hand, but so far it has only colonized in a few welcome spots (L. ciliosa). I absolutely love the way the fragrance rides the evening breeze from L. 'Belgica,' often surprising me in spots out of sight of the actual vine.
