You can grow greens inside in an old acquarium to keep critters out of them. If you find one through free exchange places that don't have a lid included, you can just use a screen with something heavy on top to keep the screen in place. I had several acquariums I used for gardening, mostly early starts, after I got rid of my fish. I had one that was four foot long and I miss my aquariums. Easiest way to grow seeds, I thought.
