You don't say what state you are in, but it is possible that the area he lived in at the time would have some around at older homes? I do think I need Polymultipetalicious though, just for the name, but it appears hybridized by someone else with the same last name, maybe a relative of his? If so contacting that hybridizer may result in you locating the older ones.
