This one had an interesting inflorescence structure, and I wondered what judges might think about. This was the second place ribbon.

It may not be a traditional pyramid, but who cares? Looks to be a different set of mathematical relationships with their own aesthetic merits. It's a splendid inflorescence in beautiful condition. The bud placement looks perfectly balanced and the flowers present themselves so as to look the judge in the eye. That's a wonderful trait. I love how the younger buds spear straight upward while the flowers are outfacing. I love how the pedicels and their leaves provide a cleanly interwoven appearence to the inner space of the inflorescence without crowding. The foliage and flower colours complement one another beautifully. Very deserving.
Now we'll see if anyone is willing to drive all the way out to my house to see my garden on Sunday......
Well, if it was only a drive down the road, I'd be there. But then you'd have to check my pockets for pollen.
...not really - I always ask first.
