What is scape blasting? No hybridizing for me! It grows like rabbits for me, if I have it named correctly.

Scape blasting is when the scape "explodes" horizontally or splits vertically. Usually I see it after a few days of hot dry weather, then a front comes through with heavy downpours. Scapes may tip over with a section still attached, be just cracked or blown completely off.

This is an image I took a few days ago of one with two areas blasted...

The AHS Daylily Dictionary has a page showing the different types of blasting and an explanation.

Yes, Lavender Rainbow was a good grower here, too. Just frustrating with the blasting and as new patterns came along I replaced it ...I think with Stenciled Impressions.
