I will harvest dark colored DL's tomorrow morning. I have a mail in to my cousin to see if and how she keeps a collection of buds to do a big job.
I remember a few years ago when she was making dye baths for wool, she kept dead headed blooms for several days.
I will also look for a video on natueral dyes maybe get some new slant on blooms.
Cousin says the deadheaded styff needs to be next days so the color is on its way out.
She made some nice panels with dry paper ,place buds on then spray. It left great negative spaces and sharp edges.

I am running out of blooms and the deer are eating emerging blooms almost every night.

Cousin says not to keep buds ,its too messy.
I dont have a wealth of buds as the season is slowing down.
I did spray repellant on the red DL's
