I am lucky to live near to several great locally owned nurseries. I only go to the ones at the big box stores out of curiosity once in a while. I visited one of the local ones the other day and saw a glorious sight.....a large display bed planted heavily with several cultivars of zinnias. They are spectacular. The nursery is owned by a 80+ year old man who is very active in the day to day work of planting and other activities. I talked with him the other day and he said he was beginning to feel his age and was cutting back to a 10 hour day. He also grows a wonderful selection of vegetables each year. I buy veggies there that I don't grow in my own garden. Here are pictures of the zinnia display bed.......
