I've had mine die back at the top, then branch like that before, but never that many branches or that big a trunk! Is it still productive?

I usually start new plants and cut down the older trees when they get over about 5 years old. They're either tall and gangly and I can't reach the fruit by then (but the squirrels can . . ) or they get so much less productive it's not worth watering them.

It's my friends tree, it's only about 2 years old..tons of fruit on this tree..every branch has fruit growing...really good papaya...I was just amazed when I first saw it!
