I got an email from ADR saying the bulb harvest/drying in Holland was completed early this year, and apparently that is true- saw bags of bulbs at Lowes yesterday. Last year it was the end of September before I started seeing them hit the shelves (and my orders were later than usual arriving).

In years past, I've looked at box store bulbs with the "stink eye", having had too many experiences of mislabeled bulbs. I ended up picking up several bags of Tulips last year from various box stores, mostly from Lowes and a few from Walmart and the grocery, and to my surprise, all were labeled correctly!

Not a big variety to choose from, but good prices on the Impression Darwin Hybrid Tulips, 10 for 3.98, and Red Impression a bag of 60 for 19.98. Close to some of the better catalog prices I've seen, but with no shipping costs Smiling
