Lots of grackles here too, including one with a white head - it's quite startling to see!
Hansel & Gretel had another flight today with a family group of seven that visited the pond. They all took off together at dusk and made it over the tops of the trees. Gretel chickened-out and returned to the pond, Hansel flew further but turned back to stay with her, and lo-and-behold the other geese came back too. Maybe they've bonded. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
