My mother had a family recipe for sweet green tomato pickles that I really loved. She lost the recipe about 40 years ago and no longer cans either. So I've always been on the lookout for commercial products to try that come close to that taste. Fortunately, a few years back, I found that Howard's Green Tomato Piccalilli comes close to it. It's expensive so we rarely purchase it (Ordinarily, I would not mention a specific brand, but its necessary here) Lately, I've not been able to find it in the stores. I'd really like to find a refrigerator pickle recipe that would duplicate the flavor that I remember from mothers pickles. If you are familiar with the Howard's product and have a green tomato pickle recipe that does similarly, please post it and share. Great thread!
