I had a prolif this year that was so energetic, it had produced 2 additional little fans on itself.

I've had crazy luck with proliferations, free fun. I've utilized all sorts of methods of growing them with varied results. I guess I get most excited when a hybrid I'm not expecting any from produces. They tend to end up being gifted out once (somewhat) established just like loose roots or fans from division. I tend to be a little rude to them (unless they're the aforementioned "special" or have come from a particularly small division that could use a little help in bulking up).

I stuffed 7 or 8 in a large pot a few weeks back and my mom was quick to inform me they were dying. "Nope, they'll be fine" was my reply. And they are indeed, just fine. They'll be in the ground soon and survivors will end up being gifted as known, named varieties. A friend's wife called late in July thrilled with a good bloom that was 4 years in the making. Worth far more than the little bit of effort I put into it. You can't buy that with a $500 bill.

At the very least they're fun to play with. Smiling
