Well we finally got some really good rain this week. Unfortunately a lot of it came down in an inch-an-hour deluge. A couple more of the drought killed trees fell even though there wasn't much wind involved, and, yes, one unerringly landed on a fence. So I spent much of the day cutting it up and trimming some low limbs off the roof of the barn and the hay shed. I also discovered a leak that I need to plug tomorrow before I forget where it is; it was dripping into the feed room. It isn't the only leak, just the only important leak. I had previously regraded part of the back barnyard to keep the rainwater from flooding the chicken coops - that was only partially successful so more to do there too. Oh, yes, and I found out the my rubber boots are no longer waterproof! Sometimes a little bit of weather goes a long way, but the pastures look wonderfully green for this time of year!
