I've grown Agastaches in containers off and on before. Sometimes they die after the Winter, but sometimes they'll survive the Winter and bloom again the next Spring - Fall. I've grown different varieties of Agastaches in containers, but the one variety that I've had the best luck with is rupestris.
Threadleaf Giant Hyssop (Agastache rupestris)
Make sure to give them excellent drainage. Does the space under the eaves get plenty of sun?
