The cutting was actually done by a grasshopper and there wasn't much to it. Less than two inches and mostly blooms and buds. But I stuck it in a 2 1/2" plastic pot where it continued to bloom and then began to form rhizomes at the bloom juncture. I've seen it do this once before. I expect it has rooted and rhizomes are forming under the soil as well. You can SEE these, though Smiling . This is why I get overrun with plants. I'm always taking broken pieces and salvaging them or collecting seeds and planting them. It's some sort of compulsive behavior, I think. Here's two photos of the cutting. One taken Sept 29 and one today Oct 09. There are two rhizomes, one larger and one much smaller. They sort look like tiny pine cones.
