Yeah, the peachy one is quite nice. These are colors we don't have very much and could use more.
Pat Drown many years ago had a GLOWING pink with purple tips and she named it "Wine and Roses" right away as it was so beautiful. Unfortunately it did not survive a brutal winter. It was a 'Missouri Rose' kid and I grew a large batch from it but nothing close. I did get 'Prairie Sunset' out of it, which is like a more intense 'Missouri Rose'. Anyway, even 40 years later I've never seen anything like "Wine and Roses". It hasn't stopped me from trying, however!
You see my problem with the heuffs as so many are pretty. When i give my hybridizing lectures I often say "It's difficult to make an ugly daffodil" (although I have!) and the same could be said for the heuffs. All are nice garden plants. Bill Nixon eventually gave up growing semp seed but kept up with heuffs.
