Josephine, as a butterfly gardener, I agree it's a must have. Of course, as a native plant supporter, I'd say try to find whatever grows native to your area. Here in Florida, you could literally just dig these off the side of the road. People would probably let you take them right out of their yard. As you can see from my pictures, they attract butterflies of all sizes and shapes. I rarely see the Swallowtails on them, but I think that might be because they're not sturdy enough to support the butterfly. But it's great for the all the medium to small ones. They self-seed easy so once you have them, you've got them forever.
