Yes. The plants from S. Africa are an interesting collective. A lot are low water plants, but otherwise they have tropical rain forest characteristics where they prefer warm growing conditions. They are usually not too hard to grow if you don't kill them by giving them water. When my conditions have gotten unreasonably hot, I've killed some just by giving them water. I've learned when the heat is really excessive in the triple digits F, to not yield to the impulse to give them water no matter how stressed they look. It was a hard lesson. I killed overnight a jade plant that I'd had for more than two decades. At the same time, I finished off four other plants at the same time. Just by giving them water. It only took the one soaking and they were done. If the temps get above 100F, I tend to not water any more. It's hard to give too much water to a tropical rain forest plant, but a warm dry climate plant must go into some kind of dormant stage in excessive heat that makes the water lethal.
