I've done this method for years and I know an uncle that would take his geraniums from the cemetery plots and keep them over winter for years. You could also take cutting of the tops and root them over winter, this way you'll have some that survive. I'm glad you brought this up and I'm sure there are going to be people scrambling out there looking at peoples trash to see if they can find something to bring home. Thank You!
