I use wireless temp alarms for my greenhouses - runs on batteries and just bought a 5, 500 watt generator. With the prediction of colder than normal temperatures and higher than normal precipitation for Winter - meaning snow and ice storms I'm just not willing to take any chances. I also have a power failure alarm so if it happens at night it will wake me up and I can fire up the generator.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
