That sure was a beauty. Very sad.
A few years ago, near the Botanical Garden where I work, there was some road work being done. One of these trees was 'in the way' and had been flagged for removal. A friend of the Garden called us, we talked to several people and the long and short of it was that we ended up moving the tree into our Gardens where it now has a beautiful place. Thumbs up
