Tap water is all I have ever used. If you have to purchase the Miracle Gro anyway, why not get the orchid fertilizer instead? The big box stores will have it and when you break the price down to the cost of a 1/2 tsp. per gallon, the cost difference is negligible. You can use the orchid fertilizer with all of your house plants.
