Good Afternoon All,

My name is Dom and I live in the Northeast United States.

My interest in house plants began many years ago with a "let's see what happens" approach to a dead Ficus tree. There were about 8 of them around my office building but as time went on, they died off from lack of care. As they died, they were hauled off to the trash. Then we got down to just TWO leaves on the LAST Ficus. As they prepared to cart it off, I clipped the last two, healthy leaves off the tree and placed them in a cup of water which I then located on the window.

25 years later, I have 1 eight foot tall Ficus which would be taller if it didn't outgrow the room! Additionally, I've started many clones from clippings which I've given away although I have 4 or 5 favorites that I have kept for myself.

From there, I've branched out and now have Peace Lillies and a host of other plants, none of which I can identify. But all "rescue" plants that others had given up on.

While all of my house plants survive, none seem to thrive. I am particularly frustrated with my Peach Lillies (but that will be a separate post).

I'm look forward to friendships and thriving house plants!

Dom
