Lynn,
Thanks for including a picture of 'Gwen's Rose'. As you note it is REALLY variable in color. It goes from the phase you showed to a green with brilliant red bases, to a dusty pink, to a paler rose center on green and back again. It gets to about 4-5" in diameter and has very good health. It is out of 'Killer' X self and has some of the same color phases as its mm but more pastel and with much wider and bigger rosettes. At the clinic last year i gave away some of the 'Killer' seedlings to others to use in their breeding programs as 'Killer' has been a magic parent for me. This spring the group from 'Fuego' X 'Killer' should be mature enough to evaluate.
Chris, I'm SO glad that you're getting snow cover. I remember one New years Day in MA when it was -32F but luckily my rock garden was under 3' of snow. Didn't lose a plant! However, I'm not wanting to move back to those climates. it's going to be 55F here on Wednesday and I can play in the yard. Yes you can hate me!
