I've been here since 1971 and know it is not uncommon to have late Feb/early March freeze/frost so I usually hold off until early March. My birthday is March 1 so I like to treat myself to new pruners/loppers for my BD. LOL

I do buy my mulch and potting soil by the truckload from the bulk place the landscapers use.
Cheaper than the bags and they load it with the bucket thingy. When I get home I just pull the wheelbarrow up to the tailgate and unload it as needed. Since I have a soft snap-on tonneau, I just leave it in the truck bed and use it as needed.
