Larry - I have mine growing in the ground too! Some of mine look the same as the blooms on yours. (Walmart is where I got mine on clearance at the end of the season a couple years ago. I have the red & white and the solid red blooming amaryllis. I love them!)

There is a homeowner about 1/2 mile from me that has this huge foliage growth year round on 20+ light pink blooming amaryllis. You should see the blooms in Spring! It is stunning! They have all the bulbs planted outlining an oval flower bed that is just loaded with the perfect balance of plants. Theirs blooms again during the summer! I am going to stop and take a photo one day! It's a young couple and they seem to have a remarkable green-thumb and a keen eye for garden design.
