Cinta, that does look very close! The color of this one varies depending on lighting, and while yours does look a tad more orange, I could see them being the same species. Certainly does sound like they're from the same time period.
Margaret, it has produced seeds. I cut the stems off after the last bloom cycle to divide and re pot, but I'd be happy to save seeds this summer.
I do have some extra bulblets after dividing it. I'd be happy to share these, and divide them among those interested- a great way to ensure its survival!
