Connie, I found it really interesting reading!

Good eye @greene! Aster seed is sometimes included in wildflower mixes isn't it? I looked in our database but didn't find any foliage photos for Symphyotrichum novi-belgii but Debra, check out this photo:

And, as @needrain Donald suggested, it could very well be a variety of Helianthus. There are a few Helianthus maximiliani listed in our database: http://garden.org/plants/searc...
