No clue. The ones (pips) in the basement haven't changed much but I haven't unpotted them to check out the roots. I only understand about the different roots from comments here. Guess I will see in spring when they go into the ground. They didn't have much in any kind of root and actually no tuber to speak of. Mostly just a stem with a pip which is why I didn't want to just toss them. They were growing and deserved a chance. Whistling Thumbs up
