Hellebores are the other thing that comes to mind that will bloom in winter, Keith. They're beautiful tough perennial plants that like to grow in the shade. The old original cultivar was known as the "Christmas Rose" because it would sometimes have flowers open for the holidays. There's another known as 'Lenten Rose' that would usually bloom in February, I'm guessing.
