I'm inspired to plant my lettuce seeds. Last year I put them in flower pots with other plants... the birds in my garden like to pull up seedlings. If they're hidden at least they have a chance.

I direct sowed last year and had the best results. For me, I'm not successful with seed starts in the house or in small containers.

Dan, the greens of your beets and turnips coupled with spinach could make great vegetable tarts.
