There are 8 species of Catasetum in the area according to the Flora do Brasil;
I think mine must be catasetum globiflorum.
Mormodes species don't occur in the area..
The plant photo is indeed from another orchid in the same place, but I believe the same species, the thin leaves with the pronounced nerves and the thickened base did look exactly like that one which was blooming but I somehow forgot to take pictures of its leaves..
